I like Josh’s work with TCV though I hoped it would be a little more dark sounding and QOTSA should do something sort of dark sounding.

  • GwynnKatie

Lot of folks (musicians) on this site talking about Darkness lately.
Well it makes sense, the world is a rather Dark place as of late.
Will have to watch this when I arrive home tonight.

I know some of you scoff at like, prayer, or my candle lighting, but please today — try to think of or hold a positive thought for all of those poor folks in MS, Northern GA, Western TN, OK, TX, and many other parts of the Southeast who’s lives were thrown into the fray by a 30 mile long torndao last night. The terrible storm woke me up so many times, but we just had tree damage and flooding. It just tears me up when innocent people suffer, especially poor folks who barely can make ends meet & then Nature rips lives up by the root and tosses them by the roadside.
Even one positive thought will help the Universal Thread.

Sorry. I had to say that. Not preaching. Just sad and thinking.

    Peace

Not to sound morbid but I’m curious as to what exactly occurred or what sorts of things occurred to put the band into that mental space.

I adore Josh. I wish more people would take him up on his live show request to “Dance Get Drunk and Have Fun together”. Try to not smile when Dancing around to QofSA (or Eagles of Death Metal). I find it impossible to not. :D

  • GwynnKatie

Josh has the most intoxicating voice. And he’s tall. I like tall.
Just listen to I Wanna Make It Wit Chu on the Desert Sessions CD
with little PJ Harvey & her bad-ass voice.
    Peace

  • GwynnKatie

Ok, well so something is up. I’ve never seen him talk in so even a tone — guess what they went through they did it together, and it was painful to some degree. He seemed pained to even speak about it in the veiled language he used to describe it. Hope all is ok now.

    Peace

Them Crooked Vultures while a great album and band…. the songs sounded like leftovers from Era Vulgaris, which is the weakest QOTSA album.

  • J

    Won’t work on iPad…..

  • J

    Sorry it does…

  • Jeff Buckley

    Well, you’ve voted for Obama…

  • Southern Discomfort

That made absolutely no fucking sense !!! Ain’t nobody got time fo dat !!!!!!!

  • Spoonman

ATTENTION BRETT i didnt know where to post this so im putting it here. why do you cover every dinosaur jr and garbage set but nothing from Mudhoney’s sets? i thought this was originally a grunge site and they are certainly grunge. magic mike has his head up his ass. please do a better job covering mudhoney. you reported pretty much no news over the weekend and hell you were really late with the HTDA videos, you would think the site would have time to post mudhoney sets when you post every single sentence corgan utters. i love this site but i have lost a lot of respect for the reporting. please improve your work ethic or workers.

  • EvenFlow

I second that Spoonman. They won’t listen. Stupid kids

  • Thedarkness

    Did someone call me?

  • Brett’s Dad

    Hey Brett,

Isn’t it funny how people like EvenFlow and Spoonman will lob pot shots at your site but won’t get off their pathetic asses and build their own sites like you have? They have no idea what commitment even means – logging countless hours looking for stories while carrying a full load at film school. You know, hard work…

My guess is right now they’re standing in front of the mirror with their pencil thin four inch cocks in their hands watching Katy Perry sing Firework. You know I’m right…

  • Brett Buchanan

I liked you better as Douche Teabag.

  • Brett Buchanan

Spoonman’s voicing his opinions which is cool, I’ve talked to him so I know that.

EvenFlow though is a troll who has posted under other names.

  • GRUNGECASTER

I think its possible Scott Weilands former solo band drummer is now playing for Queens Of The Stone Age

QUEENS OF THE STONE TEMPLE AGE :)

  • GRUNGECASTER

thats why everyone keeps talking about the darkness
that or the mayan calendar myth of 2012 spooked everyone into writing better world conscious grunge rock n roll music

  • GRUNGECASTER

POSSIBLE CONNECTION TO BAD RELIGION? :)

THEY HAD A SONG CALLED WELCOME TO THE NEW DARK AGES ??

QUEENS OF THE STONE TEMPLE AGES
THE DARKNESS TALKED ABOUT BY SCOTT WEILANDS FORMER SOLO BAND DRUMMER??

THE DARKNESS EVEN TALKED ABOUT BY JOSH OF QUEENS OF THE STONE AGES?

    NEW DARK AGES
    DARKNESS
    STONE AGES

I THINK POLITICS, RELIGION, THE SOCIAL CULTURAL UPHEAVELS ARE ALL COMING TOGETHER , YOU CAN FEEL IT IN TODAYS ROCK MUSIC, POP CULTURE FASHION, IT ALL MAKES SENSE

MAYBE ITS RELATED TO THE POST MAYAN CALENDAR WORLD OF 2013? WHO KNOWS??

I like my music like I like my coffee, dark and unsweetened. I love this band because it’s the most real band that can afford to tour and produce “commercial” music. (They sell hooks, I love their hooks!)

I’m so angry the band lied to us fans about recording as soon as the qotsa tour ended in 2011. But I’m so happy that this whole time I needed their music, They’ve been far away looking for a way out too. Maybe their new music will help me so much harder than any old qotsa song could do.

I think America and the rest of the world now know what “darkness” really means , just ask the folks in Boston :(

god bless all the victims of the unfortunate bombing tragedy
hopefully some angry grunge rock music can help us feel better about these stressful times in the world we live in
