Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme discussed recording with Dave Grohl in a new interview with BBC 6 Music, “We laugh the whole time. Dave will play something as a joke that’s ridiculous, something shouldn’t be put in the song. And just to make it funny, I’ll take it and say ‘No no no, you’re going to do that exact thing, but for a minute and a half … musically that translates really well sometimes.”

Homme also said that the Arctic Monkeys’ Alex Turner who appears on the new Queens of the Stone Age album, “one of the most talented songwriters and lyric writers that is out there.

    Totally true.. Thats how you get original stuff…

    Just look at RHCP… many of their main hooks were just funny parts made as a result of the band messing around… But it works…
