  1. ShaneC says:

Scott Weiland and the Willyknobs are NOT opening for Pearl Jam?

  2. Peace Frog says:

Awww…..Did they finally get a divorce from Sleater Kinney? How sad……

  3. Patrick says:

    Sleater-Kinney hasn’t been together since 2006…

  4. Iowa MIke says:

So frustrating they don’t take an up and coming current band. 2006 they took My Morning Jacket….2010 they took Band of Horses.

    • Dave From Detroit says:

I agree with your sentiments. An opening act for a premiere rock band like PJ is a rite-of-passage for the up and comers. I would bet the house that The Gaslight Anthem will open some of the east coast shows for them. There’s a bromance brewing between Vedder and Fallon, and Brendan O produced each of their band’s last records (not that it particularly matters, but the connection is obvious). Gaslight’s fall schedule is wide open, which hasn’t happened in years for them…stay tuned.

  5. PopTrashHero says:

Why does Pearl Jam need an opening act in the first place? They’ve long surpassed the need for that. And Mudhoney? Oh God please don’t let them open every show.

  6. Clem Halibut says:

How on earth could anyone complain about a Pearl Jam / Mudhoney tour ?

  7. Humanmonkey says:

    Orpheum Theatre concert anyone?

  8. Patrick says:

Mudhoney is on tour in September – they are playing in here (NC) on the 24th of Sept.

I would be surprised if they came back through the next month.

I am still keeping my fingers crossed for The Whigs as an opening band!

  9. Mandingo says:

I really do hate to say it but every opening act the boys have had over here in the UK have been pretty poor in my opinion , I just tend to miss em these days and show up when pearl jam come on ! I know the boys love em but that band X they must have been the worse ! couldnt figure out why the boys loved em so much , to each their own i guess

  10. Ace says:

I’ve seen Pearl Jam about 10 times and have seen the opening bane exactly zero times.

    • Jason says:

I think “bane” was more appropriate. From the Oxford English Dictionary:

      bane |b?n|
      noun [usu. in sing. ]
a cause of great distress or annoyance : the bane of the decorator is the long, narrow hall | the depressions that were the the bane of her existence.

      • hecubus says:

yeah, you’re right……remember when pearl jam opened for the chili peppers, nirvana, alice in chains and soundgarden….yup, opening bands are really annoying

  11. Patrick says:

led zeppelin was once an opening band

  12. SteveDave says:

I know for a fact that Dallas through Oakland is not Mudhoney.

  13. Big M says:

Wait, X opened for Pearl Jam and you are complaining?????????

  14. crybaby jerkins says:

    They hate Detroit….. :(

  15. Mandingo says:

yeh sorry mate but X fucking sucked balls

  16. Big M says:

Maybe they do today but in their prime they were excellent. Either way I’d see them but click the link for some classic X

  17. fsh says:

they should put star anna on the bill.

  18. says:

Kill Cameron Tour sounds good to me.

  19. Creep says:

oh my god, that would be the best thing ever. My two favorite bands playing.

  20. Raj says:

I’m pretty sure it’s going to be Mudhoney, they opened for them 3 years ago.

  21. EGX500 says:

    why not Geoff Tate’s Queensryche?
