Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan has leaked a new photo of his friend and former solo band keyboardist Linda Strawberry. The Smashing Pumpkins did a new photoshoot for their reunion on Saturday in Los Angeles, with photos of the band’s new lineup of Billy Corgan, James Iha, Jimmy Chamberlin, and Jeff Schroeder leaking.
Corgan wrote about the new photo of Strawberry, “ANOTHER LEAKED PHOTO! @lindastrawberry.”
D’arcy Wretzky recently told Blast Echo that she was ‘disappointed’ to learn she wouldn’t be part of The Smashing Pumpkins reunion. Since photos have leaked of the reunion lineup, there has been rampant speculation about who will play bass on tour.
Billy Corgan, Jeff Schroeder, and even Corgan’s girlfriend Chloe Mendel have trolled fans and the media with the bassist speculation. Jeff Schroeder also trolled fans, posting a photo of a book titled: ‘Slap It! Funk Studies For The Electric Bass.’ Mendel wrote on Instagram, “Rumors rumors rumors.. And y’all thought I couldn’t play bass….”
Corgan posted a new photo on his Instagram story on Tuesday that said, “Do I look like I want to play the bass?”
Corgan also shared a new update on recording sessions on Tuesday, “A pic of the post-drum apocalypse. Sang 5 songs today with a bit of a croak in throat, as this bug persists. But got some lyric fixes in, did some string arranging on 2 songs via an M400 #mellotron, and am set to finish up the work tomorrow. With live strings on Wednesday. Go-go-go… #wpc @chamberdrums.”
He wrote later on Tuesday, “A candid shot from a recent, non-working moment. But I’m happy to be so busy, as evidenced by the smiling person you see.”
