Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan has a new method for sarcastically answering questions he feels he’s been asked too many times about other musicians on his Instagram Q&A’s. He writes ‘No, never met him TBH’ even if he has met the artist. He responded with this answer when asked if he had met Pearl Jam drummer Matt Cameron. He did call him ‘one of the best ever.’ Cameron played drums on The Smashing Pumpkins Adore classic “For Martha” in 1998.

Ever meet Matt Cameron?

“No, never met him TBH. Great drummer though. One of the best ever.”

Corgan also recently posted on Instagram, “It’s been a spell since I did a post of any depth or insight. Strictly because my brain is mush, and there’s no shame in that. Being a father on the road with this 8-armed, biting monster (who thinks he is either a shark or an octo-kiss -his pronunciation- at any given moment) and finding the focus to perform this wonderful show (the Shiny) where and when it matters is tough at times. But I have no complaint. This is quite simply one of the best times in my life, and I am grateful. Katie, Jack, James, Jeff, and Jimmy have really gone all in on this tour. I see it every day, in demeanor, focus, attention to detail, in taking care of themselves with rest, and it’s the height of professionalism and very, very impressive. I’d love to say more but the words I fear will come out wrong. So simply said, my gratitude to them for playing this music right. It really does inspire me to go as far as I can go. And that can, at times, seem pretty far.

Two notes. Tomorrow is the ‘All In’ event in Chicago. A sold-out, independent pro wrestling event featuring some of the greatest talent in the world. As well, an @nwa World’s Heavyweight Championship match (Aldis vs Rhodes). Of our participation in this, I am very, very, very proud. So if you get a chance watch our recent documentaries at @nwa and if you feel thus, order the event on PPV and support these talents as they change the business.

Lastly, and this is said with a wink, I see where my daily Q + A sessions are lining up to become a new kind of troll meets clickbait heaven meets the disgruntled peoples who feel I have no right to block them because ‘fill in the reason X’. Reminder: I am not a politician. I am an erratic, emotional, silly and deadly serious artist who just does what I feel is right. Consequences by damned. It’s gotten me this far. And if you are still here for the ride and the great times to come, you’ll see the choice I’ve made where it comes to a kind of transparency versus a very particular kind of privately won self-respect. Mock the dead avatar of BC, lampoon the floating WPC cast to the wind, but do not ask me to go along with a delusion that is not only invalid, but never was true. W*.”
