Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan was recently asked about his recent revelation that he met a shapeshifter in a new interview with Mancow. Alternative Nation transcribed Corgan and Mancow’s comments.

Corgan said, “(Laughs) I’m not going to talk about it, but I’m willing to laugh about it.”

Mancow pressed Corgan on why he wouldn’t discuss his shapeshifter encounter.

Corgan responded, “Because of the world we live in. If it would be dealt with as the phenomenon that it was, and the serious thing that it was, and the supernatural thing that it was, I would be more than happy to talk about it.”

Mancow said, “I’ve had some experiences, and so has my friend here.”

Corgan shot back, “Look, we could sit here and-”

Mancow responded, “Let me finish. I was given a significant amount of money to write a book, [inaudible] heard about it and said we want the first look at it for a movie. I have a story that is incredible, and I don’t know if it’s a demonic thing, I don’t know what it is, but people whose faces change.

Others say they change, but many people have had this experience. All I have to do is say it right now, and we’d get 1,000 calls on the radio. Their eyes go black, or their faces change, some people say into reptilian type shapes. I have not seen this, but you have said elsewhere that you-.”

Corgan interrupted, “I didn’t give specifics.”

Mancow asked, “Is it alien or is it demonic?”

Corgan said, “I don’t know. I’m not an expert, I just had an experience. But that’s my point, I would love to talk about the experience as both a funny thing, a strange thing, and a scary thing.”

“My point is I’d love to talk about it in the realm that it happened in, which is life. We would sit around the dinner table and tell jokes and sort of question, but public life is not that.”

Corgan also said he believes in demons and angels.

These people are both insane. And they’re such egotists that they can’t even comprehend the possibility that it was their own brain malfunctioning or doing something weird.

It’s so bizarre.. I still want to hear Billy’s story just for the hell of it though.
