Jim Breuer discussed his comments claiming that Brian Johnson was ‘kicked to the curb’ by AC/DC going viral earlier this year on Eddie Trunk’s podcast, and Alternative Nation transcribed some quotes. Breuer at the time had claimed Johnson was ‘depressed’ about leaving AC/DC after seeing him. Axl Rose replaced him as the band’s lead singer. Breuer recalled a conversation he had with Johnson after the news went viral, and he paraphrased a few comments Johnson made to him.

“I got a call from England, from me friend, who said Jimmy Breuer said you were fired.”

“As long as you didn’t say I was quoted. I don’t care what you say, as long as you say it wasn’t me, [that] I wasn’t quoted.”

“Listen, you’ve got to be careful with this social media stuff, it goes out of proportion, I’m sure it’s no big deal. I want people to know I’m not a quitter. I’m not a quitter, Jim.”

Breuer also said, “He has no clue how relevant he is to that band. He has no clue the relevance that he has brought rock and roll in general. He has no clue of what a beloved rock icon he is, he’s that humble.”

Eddie Trunk talked about Def Leppard giving their drummer Rick Allen time to recover when his arm was amputated, and that he is still in the band. He said, “If somebody has a little bit of a hearing issue, it strikes me as a little bit funny that, woah woah woah woah, you’re getting someone else? I don’t care who it is, nothing against Axl or anybody, but you’re getting someone else when this guy just gave you 36 years. There’s got to be a way to work around this.

Breuer responded, “This is why there’s a lot of hidden things here that people don’t see, so calling up the horn now, people are starting to think, he deserves his due.”
