Scott Crane wrote the following tribute on Facebook back in May after Chris Cornell’s death.

“Andy Wood was the Court Jester, he showed us the fantasy, and we believed him… but Chris was the spark, the gas and the engine of the ‘Seattle Music Scene.’ I spoke with Chris on the phone for over an hour less than two months ago. We talked about Andy, Malfunkshun, the fantastic new ULTRAMEGA OK mixes that Endino and Kim did at Soundhouse, the amazing music his brother Peter Cornell had written for my movie CURIO SHOP. We talked about Port Gamble, Bainbridge Island, Ben Shepherd, and the Blue Collar backwater Seattle of our youth… we laughed a lot. He was optimistic about the world today, when I was being a sarcastic pessimist

… he showed me a different way of looking at it. He was in the process of building a studio, and he was recording constantly. He was super excited about his future recordings … he was making plans and he was lovely and full of life. So gracious and so immeasurably talented. In my heart and soul, I know that David Bowie and Andy Wood and Mark Bolan and Freddie Mercury are all singing with him right now. I can almost hear it. Someday I will. But for now, do you know how lucky we all are to have been on Earth at the same time as these spirits? It’s really beautiful.”
