Chris Cornell’s official Instagram account recently posted his Kennedy Center Honors 2008 Tribute performance to Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey. He covered The Who’s “Won’t Get Fooled Again.” Cornell blew away everyone when he was able to continue singing despite the biggest disaster a singer can have at a live show, a microphone not working!

Chris’ widow Vicky Cornell commented, “He was such a pro and had such heart…sometimes live TV performances don’t go as planned. Chris got out there in front of quite the audience and his mic didn’t work at all. I remember everyone just looking at each other – Dave Grohl’s mouth dropped and magt running to see what they could do. As for Chris he kept going. He had the chops and luckily he was also naturally loud 😉 #noonesingslikeyouanymore I miss you.”

Vicky Cornell recently wrote to a fan on Instagram who told her about how they were destined to be together, “@catalinahartsell thank you for your kind words. I miss him everyday. As far as destiny goes I don’t believe what’s written in the stars has expiration on it – you don’t know if your time has already passed.”
