Members of Chris Cornell’s family have spent time with Chester Bennington’s widow Talinda as she grieves the death of her husband and prepares for his funeral. Reports came out last night that Bennington’s family is planning a private funeral with only close friends and family in attendance.
Chester Bennington performed “Hallelujah” at Chris Cornell’s funeral in May at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery, and was the godfather of Cornell’s son Chris Cornell Jr. Vicky Cornell wrote on Twitter in response to Bennington’s death last week, “Just when I thought my heart couldn’t break any more…..I love you T.”
Talinda showed support for Chris Cornell’s family in June when the family were under attack by trolls on social media. Talinda tweeted, “I’m deeply saddened by humanity.I just came across a stream of people tweeting vile lies about Chris Cornell,his death &his wife. Disgusting.” She added, “It’s crossing a line so deep for me. That’s my FAMILY. Show some respect.”
Chris Cornell’s daughter Lily paid tribute to Chester Bennington last week, “I love you so much. Thank you for always being there for me and my family, thank you for being the kindest human being imaginable, and thank you for your legendary voice. there is a gaping hole in the world without you.”
