Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl covered Adele’s “When We Were Young” with his 12-year old daughter Violet on Saturday night at the Fox Theater in Oakland. Watch video below.

The performance was part of the Notes & Words Event. Their website stated before the concert, “Gracing the Notes & Words stage will be 16-time Grammy-winning musician and two-time Emmy-winning director Dave Grohl. Grohl’s ascension to legendary status began in earnest as drummer for Nirvana, beginning with 1991’s generation-defining Nevermind.

Since 1995, Grohl has rocked the arena, stadium and festival stages of the world as Foo Fighters frontman, while the band’s massive catalogue–including its most recent international #1 album Concrete and Gold–has sold more than 25 million copies and spawned some of the most indelible rock anthems of the last 20+ years. See for yourself why Grohl is universally hailed as rock legend, visionary director, philanthropist and both the hardest working and all around nicest rockstar on the planet, a once-in-a-lifetime intimate appearance at the Fox.”

The hospital information states, “At UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals, the world-renowned pediatric specialists at our Oakland and San Francisco campuses deliver hope and healing to children throughout the Bay Area and around the globe.

More than 100 years ago, our Oakland hospital was founded on the belief that all children deserve access to world-class medicine. In addition to outstanding clinical care, we address our patients’ developmental and emotional needs through programs like music therapy, art classes, therapy dog visits, massage, and much more. We also help ensure the health of our community, advocating for vulnerable children living in at-risk situations and providing early interventions for kids facing challenges like asthma, obesity, and diabetes.

Because insurance only covers a fraction of all that we do, we depend on philanthropic support to help transform children’s lives. Families come to us for compassion, innovation, and hope—and it takes generous partners like you to make that possible.”
