Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl was interviewed a few days ago by The Atlantic’s Jeffrey Goldberg for City Lab, and Grohl revealed why young fans should never do drugs. Alternative Nation transcribed Grohl’s remarks. Dave Grohl mocked an obsessed Bruce Springsteen fan a couple of days ago.

Dave Grohl: Being a parent, it’s one of the things I tell my kids. When I was young, I thought I could do anything. Honestly, except go to college, I felt I could do pretty much anything. I thought if I just put my mind to it, I’m going to figure it out, and I’m going to do it. I still feel that way. I don’t know, I’m not a director, I don’t know how to make TV shows, but I did a f***ing HBO series.

So it’s funny, I think that we did something that people hadn’t done yet, and I’m very proud of that. But when I was asked to come here to talk today, they said, ‘What are you talking about?’ I said, ‘I haven’t the slightest idea.’ They said, ‘Why did they call you?’ I said, ‘I have no clue.’ That’s kind of how I flew threw life. Kids, stay in school, don’t do drugs.

Interviewer Jeffrey Goldberg then asked a humorous drug question. Howard Stern took a brutal shot at Dave Grohl disrespect last weekend.

Jeffrey Goldberg: Is the actual answer don’t do drugs, or just do the right amount of drugs?

Dave: No, don’t do the drugs. You can’t, no, I’m not saying that. Don’t do the drugs.

Jeffrey: There might be law enforcement here.

Dave: This is live streaming.

Jeffrey: Let’s go to Seattle.

Dave: Speaking of drugs.

A Foo Fighters member confirmed massive drug use last week.
