Eddie Van Halen‘s beautiful wife Janie Van Halen posted a sad holiday quote for the Christmas season last week.

Yes he has tried and is trying to quit cigarettes. He is in phenomenal shape. Control and reverb are status quo to slightly better. His band is better, especially in terms of tone, but realistically could not have gotten worse. I’m biased still to DLR’s band, I had gotten to know those guys and they played together for a few years, but the new band (still not named) is sounding better as of the first week of December.
The schedule, well my comment is good luck with that shit. Every week he is on the road, in 2020 he has a back to back shows. He has not done back to backs consistently in almost 20 years. That is biting off A LOT. That said, he typically gets stronger as tours go on and starts weaker, but it is a big workload, so we will see, but god bless him. I always say jump off the biggest building, it gives you more time to figure out the landing. This is a pretty tall building for the old man.
