Former Pearl Jam drummer Matt Chamberlain will not attend Pearl Jam’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony. Chamberlain tells Rolling Stone, “I’m so happy they are getting honored by the Hall of Fame. They are good friends and total inspirations. I wish them all the best. Of course, I appreciate the shoutout.” Chamberlain added that work commitments will prevent him from attending the ceremony. Chamberlain briefly drummed for Pearl Jam in summer 1991, appearing in the “Alive” video.

Dave Abbruzzese appears at least open to the idea of attending after sharing Pearl Jam’s open letter to drummers on Facebook. A report by BlastEcho claiming he wouldn’t attend the ceremony being shot down as a false report adds further fuel to speculation that he will attend. BlastEcho said, “BlastEcho regrets to inform Pearl Jam fans that the story about former member Dave Abbruzzese not agreeing to participate at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony in April is FALSE. BlastEcho apologizes to Mr. Abbruzzese, Pearl Jam fans and anyone else who was misled by this story. The intent was never ‘fake news,’ but rather the result of being duped by someone posing as Mr. Abbruzzese. Our deepest apologies.” Alternative Nation has reached out to Abbruzzese for comment but has not received a response.

Jack Irons has yet to comment or post any sort of reaction to Pearl Jam’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction on social media.
