Dave Grohl confirmed plans for a Foo Fighters 25th anniversary tour that will now likely take place in 2021 after being pushed back from 2020 due to the pandemic. Grohl made the announcement in a handwritten note along with releasing the new Foos single “No Son of Mine.”

B2611 questioned the strength of melodies on new Foo Fighters Medicine at Midnight. The user wrote on Reddit, “Foo Fighters melodies aren’t as strong as they used to be?

They definitely haven’t lost any of their instrumental skills, but going back to powerful melodies like Aurora, Rope, Hey Johnny Park, Generator, No way back, (and basically all of their first 2 albums), their vocal melodies on the 2 new tracks from the upcoming album seem especially weak?

Wasting Light had some great hooks but since then I feel like that element of songwriting has gone into a bit of a decline.”

MscChris responded, “Dave said that there are a lot of refrains on medicine at midnight that 100 000 people will sing along to. They said that never a album had such meaningful songs as this one. I believe the best is yet to come.

The lyrics of no sone of mine are good and fit perfectly for the song. Some songs are not meant to be super deeply meaningful. Shame Shame repeated itself too much for me but isn’t a bad song either.

Some song info on no sone of mine from dave might help or not:

‘This is the kind of song that just resides in all of us and if it makes sense at the time, we let it out,’ explains frontman Dave Grohl. “Lyrically it’s meant to poke at the hypocrisy of self-righteous leaders, people that are guilty of committing the crimes they’re supposedly against…'”
