Yup my birthday is looming on the horizon and I would have forgotten about it for at least another week if my mother hadn't gone on one her trips down memory lane and insisted on telling me tales of my birth.....again! Yup, I get this every year, and it never gets any more pleasant to hear. Just as well I have mastered the art of switching off while still appearing to be awake and hanging on her every word. Bless her, I love the woman to bits

I absolutely hate Xmas!

I went back to work on the 8th December. It's not been too bad actually and I am kind of floating around on an "I love my job" cloud which will no doubt end as soon as I get my first screamer on the phone

I found some snazzy head scarves to cover my scars and they appear to be attracting minimal attention. However I did feel rather silly on meeting a bunch of guys in the pub on Saturday night, 2 of whom were dressed as pirates...

Don't worry it's not anything naughty or sexually related - it's this damn head of mine which is itching like hell. This must be what it feels like when one has head lice, but head lice can be killed and removed - itches from scars just have to be put up with. And my leg! Oh my god I fear I may actually scratch it right off if I don't stop clawing at it. I have the Dr this afternoon and will be asking, nay pleading, for something to remove the itch as I actually cannot stand it any longer...

And the riding adventures continue. We are now cantering confidently and working on leg yielding and changing canter leads. My muscles are actually re-learning quite quickly and I am no longer as stiff as a board the morning after riding., which is pretty much every day at the moment. Ii have had to order him a martingale and a flash noseband and a loose ring french link snaffle though as he does this thing with his head where it comes up to meet my nose sometimes which is rather concerning,...
