Did Guns N’ Roses Troll St. Louis?

On March 25th Guns N’ Roses announced the 21 cities they would be visiting on their reunion tour, which included what would have been the first trip back to St. Louis since  1991. However, on April 1st when the dates were announced, it was reduced to 20 cities with St Louis being left off the tour.

The history behind Axl Rose’s hate towards the Gateway City goes way back. It started when Rose was accused of instigating a riot after going after a fan with a camera during a July 1991 concert at Riverport Ampitheater in St.Louis. The concert ended when Rose broke his mic and called the show early. After the incident, the liner notes in the next two albums, Use Your Illusion I and Use Your Illusion II, both had some very choice words for St. Louis. Also, Rose was wearing a t-shirt in the “Don’t Cry” video that says “St. Louis Sucks”.

As of now, this seems to be yet another swipe toward St. Louis, that is unless we hear differently from the band.
