Alter Bridge have released the first single off their upcoming record The Last Hero this morning. The lead track is entitled “Show Me a Leader.” You can listen to it now via Sirius XM/Octane and it will be available digitally tomorrow.
This is the first taste of new music we have heard from Alter Bridge since their 2013 release, Fortress. It’s a coming out swinging type of song that features a powerful message with appropriate timing from frontman, Myles Kennedy, and an electrifying, warp-speed guitar solo by Mark Tremonti.
“Show Me a Leader is a reflection of how polarized and fractured things are in our society,” singer Kennedy told SiriusXM. “This song doesn’t push an agenda, it simply expresses a very common sense of disillusionment people seem to be feeling at this point in time.”
Alter Bridge’s fifth studio album, The Last Hero, will be released on October 7th. It was recorded in Orlando, FL with their longtime producer – Michael “Elvis” Baskette at the helm.
The band is currently on a North American tour with Breaking Benjamin and Disturbed.
