Anthony Kiedis Reveals Why He’s Meeting With Doctors, Will It Affect Red Hot Chili Peppers Tour?

Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman Anthony Kiedis discussed his health issues in a recent interview with Journal De Montreal, claiming that his stomach issues are behind him.

“Everything is fine. My stomach stopped working for a while. I had to change my diet and consuming herbs to cure it. I also broke my kneecap in two places, I jumped on stage and fell on my knee. I haven’t been able to kneel down since. It have a three-week break in August and the doctors will take the opportunity to fix this.”

He added that his knee injury hasn’t hurt his live performances too much, A little, but not too serious. It does not bother me to play injured. This is necessary if you want to win a championships. It’s part of the job.”

He also discussed The Getaway, “I have not really noticed the kind of reception we received. I’m just happy with the album. Friends have written to me to tell me they were shocked to see that they loved every song.”

“In fact, they were rather surprised to see that there are no bad song. You know, when it’s been thirty years that you are in a group, you run the risk of repeating yourself. I think we were at a crossroads and it was time to evolve, or risk always sounding the same. It’s a new era for us. ”
