I know we use ‘blow your mind’ a lot as a clickbait hook, but a John Frusciante fan literally had a ‘mind blowing moment’ with Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith at a recent Q&A. Wilfredo Ayala wrote on Facebook:

“I just sat 7 feet away in front of Anthony Kiedis and Chad Smith in part of a Q&A press conference from a radio contest earlier today! I’m still in disbelief that it happened!! In the 45 minute session, they mentioned John Frusciante about 6 times. I sat in the front row and I was wearing my John Frusciante shirt and Chad noticed it. I caught him looking at it, then at me, then looked down, as if he was moved. At the end, when we took our photos, he commented ‘That’s a nice shirt you got there.’ Mind blowing moment.”

Red Hot Chili Peppers’ reclusive former guitarist John Frusciante was spotted by a fan on March 7th in Los Angeles, ironically on the eve of the Chili Peppers’ performance in Los Angeles at Staples Center. Frusciante was jogging on a trail, and agreed to take a photograph when asked by a fan. The fan was then driven to tears by the experience of meeting Frusciante. Frusciante also asked for directions to a part of the trail. See the photo from Reddit below!

Former Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist John Frusciante has rarely been photographed in recent years, but this past weekend a photo was released of the rock legend spending his 47th birthday with actor/director Vincent Gallo.

Gallo had minor roles in mainstream films such as Goodfellas, Arizona Dream, The Funeral and Palookaville, he is most associated with independent movies, including Buffalo ’66, which he wrote, directed, scored and starred in and The Brown Bunny, which he also wrote, directed, produced, starred in and photographed. In the early 2000s, he released several solo recordings on Warp Records. Gallo is known for his controversial behavior in the past on film sets, with Christina Ricci calling him “a crazy lunatic man.”

Linda Ramone is also in the photograph. Ramone is the widow of Ramones legend Johnny Ramone. Happy birthday John!
