Red Sun Rising’s sophomore album, Thread, was released Friday, March 30. Their debut album Polyester Zeal had two back-to-back #1s on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Chart, so this set a pretty high standard for the group’s second full-length release. Looking back on Red Sun Rising’s previous album and tour, singer Mike Protich said, “…it was not until we made this album that I felt we became a band.”
The record lends a vast array of sounds, tempos, and messages, making it more complex and deeper than their previous material.
Red Sun Rising consists of Mike Protich on vocals, Ryan Williams and Dave McGarry on guitars, Ricky Miller on bass, and Pat Gerasia on drums. Their tour in support of Thread kicked off on March 18 in Syracuse, and they will be embarking around the country, including hitting several Monster Energy Festivals starting at the end of April.
