Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant recently celebrated his 71st birthday earlier this week, and Lenny Kravitz shared a photo where he has Plant in a chokehold, though it obviously seems lighthearted. Kravitz wrote, “Happy birthday @RobertPlant. Have a beautiful celebration day. @ledzeppelin.” A fan responded, “Don’t strangle him 😂.” An ‘insane’ Robert Plant money claim was made yesterday.

Steve Albini discussed working with Jimmy Page and Robert Plant on their 1998 mini Led Zeppelin reunion album Walking into Clarksdale in the new Porcupine documentary. Alternative Nation transcribed Albini’s comments.

Albini said, “Jimmy Page and Robert Plant would finish work in the studio at like, six or seven in the evening and I would continue working into twelve, one into the morning to finish all of the stuff for the next day. Then Page and Plant would come in the next day and we would get started on something else or they would listen to the shit that I had done. I was in the studio from nine in the morning, Page and Plant were usually between ten and eleven and then it would go six or eight in the evenings.”

The interviewer asked, “Was it was like five months of not sleeping?”

Albini responded, “Well I mean, it’s about the same as here but there were certain things about it that made life tolerable. Like, Page and Plant didn’t work on Sundays and they often gave me chores to execute over the weekend. Like at the end of Saturday’s session they would give me a larger list of chores of things to do to get ready for Monday. So sometimes I would work Sundays but most of the time I would have Sunday’s off.” Robert Plant was called a jerk on television a few days ago.
