Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page revealed that Robert Plant and John Paul Jones declined an invitation that he accepted just a year before their 2007 reunion performance. Jimmy Page canceled a major release a few days ago.

“On this day in 2006, @LedZeppelin were inducted into the UK Music Hall of Fame.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Led Zeppelin had been inducted into the UK Music Hall of Fame, to which there was an award ceremony including James Brown, and the group were invited to attend. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
I attended the event, as did members of the Bonham family, but the other two members had declined. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
I had met James Brown on a number of occasions and his appearance seemed no different to any time before; fit, sharp and bright, but this was to be the last time – he was to die on Christmas day that year. It was a shock having seen him so fit on this occasion. He was truly one of the giants.⁣⁣”

Howard Stern hinted at a Led Zeppelin reunion concert a few days ago. He also wrote, “On this day in 1964, I played on Jackie DeShannon’s release ‘Don’t Turn Your Back on Me’.⁣
⁣⁣
Jackie DeShannon came to London and there was a session at EMI Number Two Studio to record her song ‘Don’t Turn Your Back on Me’. She was a prolific songwriter and had written ‘Needles and Pins’ and ‘When You Walk In The Room’ which had been covered by Liverpool group ‘The Searchers’.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
The musical arranger was Charles Blackwell, but apparently he hadn’t transcribed the guitar riff the way she had written it and she came to grips with the guitar to illustrate how it was originally written. It just so happened that a photographer captured this moment. By the time this was released, Jackie DeShannon and I had written some songs together.” Robert Plant revealed a massive Led Zeppelin tour offer last week.
