Slash has said in recent interviews that he was ‘stockpiling’ new Guns N’ Roses song riffs. In a new Music Radar interview, he specified that there are ‘a couple of ideas’ and he used a word to describe them for the first time: cool.

“There are a couple of ideas that I’ve earmarked for Guns that I won’t be using for anything else. But I don’t know where we are going with this; it remains to be seen what we’ll end up doing. I think the other guys would agree we’re just going to see what happens.

Now we’ve gotten past all our s**t from 20 years ago, we want to keep this thing going and keep it fresh… Should that wheel start turning, I have some cool riffs ready.”

“When you think about it, we’ve been working this entire time, so there’s been no chance to map out what we’ll be doing once this tour is over or what kind of approach we will take. Now we’ve gotten past all our shit from 20 years ago, we want to keep this thing going and keep it fresh and so on and so forth. Let’s see what happens! Should that wheel start turning, I have some cool riffs ready.”

Slash’s father Tony Hudson has posted on Instagram in response to reports that Guns N’ Roses will make a new album, the first album of new material to reunite original members Axl Rose, Slash, and Duff McKagan since the Use Your Illusion albums in 1991.

Hudson wrote on Instagram, “EXCITING NEWS FOR FANS EVERYWHERE ! …… SLASH CONFIRMS THAT G’N’R PLANS TO RELEASE A NEW ALBUM / TONY. .

Slash has said in several interviews recently that he hopes to record a new album with Guns N’ Roses, that he has guitar riff ideas, and that Axl Rose has a ton of songs. He also said there isn’t any deadline, and it’s something they’ll discuss after they finish upcoming tour dates.
