Watch Soundgarden Emotionally Reunite With Chris Cornell’s Widow & Serj Tankian

Chris Cornell’s widow Vicky was awarded The Promise award in honor of her late husband at HRW’s annual gala on Tuesday night by System of a Down frontman Serj Tankian. Surviving Soundgarden members Kim Thayil and Matt Cameron joined her on stage.

Serj Tankian wrote on Instagram, “It was a great honor to present the inaugural @humanrightswatch #thepromise award to our dear departed friend @chriscornellofficial and his wife Vicky at HRW’s annual gala last night for all the work their foundation does with refugees and vulnerable children. Here with @themattcameron and @esrailian.”

This was the first public appearance by surviving members of Soundgarden together with Vicky Cornell since Chris Cornell’s funeral in May at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder was also photographed with Vicky.
