Soundgarden bassist Ben Shepherd revealed what Chris Cornell told him about the guitar he played on the Down on the Upside classic “Pretty Noose” in a new Instagram post.

“Kitchen tracking ….this song was tuned by ear back in ‘1997-‘98 , so i had to get out the Dussenberg – that guitar can hold any tuning really well – l remember Chris saying thats one reason he liked them and played his on Pretty Noose and other oddly tuned songs where ya had to get after it !”

He also wrote about another picture he posted, “Something comforting about this to me. Like seeing a friend you haven’t seen in a while then you realize how good it is to see them and how much you’ve missed them. But different because its not a human its a place , more like re-finding a fort you built as a kid and that its just as reassuring and nice as you left it. Tahoma – showing the way , ya can get lost but thats ‘cools’ as we say.”

He wrote about a comical recent photo he posted, “Yep no coat hanger ; but Mr. Bonesy was there to help , pulled outta the back of ye olde Volvo ( Elf Sled ) and yep it worked got in the locked car hahaha !!”
