Matt Cameron has uploaded a new Soundgarden rehearsal video for the ‘I Am The Highway: A Tribute To Chris Cornell’ show, and it features the band rehearsing “The Day I Tried To Live.” The song is very tragic in light of Chris Cornell’s death, and was not included on his recent career retrospective set, along with other sensitive songs like “Pretty Noose” and “Like Suicide.”

The voice heard singing in Cameron’s sounds a lot like Chris Cornell, so it appears they’ve either got a great guest singer, or they’re rehearsing to recorded vocals of Cornell. The only confirmed guest singer for Soundgarden so far is Marcus Durant, who has played with Kim Thayil and Matt Cameron in MC50.

Surviving members of Audioslave and Temple of the Dog are also advertised to perform, along with Foo Fighters, Metallica, and Ryan Adams. It’s unclear how Audioslave and Temple of the Dog may perform or what guest singers might play with them. Audioslave’s surviving members have played an instrumental version of “Like a Stone” on tour with Prophets of Rage, so it’s possible they could do that, but System of a Down’s Serj Tankian has also joined them to play the song in the past. Surviving members of Temple of the Dog have not played their material since Cornell’s death.
