Chris Cornell tweeted a photo yesterday of the Temple of the Dog master tapes with the caption, “Temple of the Dog masters returned today. History made whole 25 years later!”

TMZ are reporting that Cornell and his label, A&M Records, recently settled a drawn-out lawsuit over the Temple of the Dog recordings. Cornell and A&M actually got the physical tapes back on Tuesday, ending the battle with the album’s producer, Rick Parashar.

Parashar had kept the 1991 masters, and when he died his family continued to fight A&M for ownership, but with the settlement, Cornell finally celebrated with a victory photo.

TMZ has been told the label’s looking to reissue the album for the 25th anniversary, a long anticipated release for Temple of the Dog fans. Temple of the Dog’s lone 1991 album was inspired by the death of Mother Love Bone member Andrew Wood, and featured Cornell along with Pearl Jam members Eddie Vedder, Mike McCready, Stone Gossard, Jeff Ament, and Matt Cameron.
