Riding high off of the success of “White Baby” and “(I Just Want To) SLAM!”, The Blankz are locked and loaded to deliver a hat trick with “I’m a Gun”. The latest single is an unapologetic barrage of classic punk rock with a modern spin that not only represents the storied genre well, but helps to carry it to a new generation.
If you’re familiar with The Blankz, then you are well aware that the band’s high energy sonic assault is a force to be reckoned with. “I’m a Gun” kicks off with a frenetic drum intro that not only builds the momentum, but proves that once again The Blankz are clear in their intent; and that intent is to destroy you with their insanely catchy hooks and razor sharp instrumentation.
Like the band’s two aforementioned singles, “I’m a Gun” is as addicting as it is unique and as punishing as it is innovative. Since the inception of punk rock in the 70’s when bands like the Ramones, The Clash and the Sex Pistols reigned supreme, there has been a number of revivals of the genre that have continuously pushed the envelope. In the 90’s, it was Green Day, The Offspring and Blink 182. And now, in the 2010’s, the band waving the flag and laying claim to the best punk rock band in the business is The Blankz!
Make sure to check out “I’m a Gun”. Available through Slope Records, the raucous good time of a song will be available September 14th.
