Tool, Stone Temple Pilots, Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators, former Pantera singer Phil Anselmo, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Slayer, Lamb of God, and Anthrax will play at Hellfest in Clisson, France on June 23, 2019. KISS, Def Leppard, Whitesnake, and ZZ Top will play on June 22nd, while Manowar, Dropkick Murphys, Dream Theater, Gojira, and Sum 41 will play on June 21st.
Tool, Alice In Chains, and Stone Temple Pilots played at the Northern Invasion festival in May. Tool guitarist Adam Jones had high praise for STP on Instagram, referring to them with the heart emoji. He wrote that it ‘seems like old times’ and a ‘time machine.’

Late Stone Temple Pilots singer Scott Weiland compared himself to Maynard James Keenan in 2012, saying he hoped to front STP and Velvet Revolver simultaneously like Keenan does with Tool and A Perfect Circle, which sadly never happened. STP were still together at the time and Velvet Revolver had reunited for a one off performance in January.
He told Rolling Stone in May 2012, “If Maynard [James Keenan] can do it with A Perfect Circle and Tool, then there’s no reason why I shouldn’t go and do it with both bands.”
