U2 and Bono have some holiday advice for you, as he wants you to be giving to his AIDS charity! As co-founder of (Red), the licensed brand that seeks to engage the private sector in raising awareness and funds to help eliminate HIV/AIDS in eight African countries. Bono made this quick little video about ‘finding the perfect gift for the hardest person on your list’. U2 fan reveals what Bono did to her at bar.

Suggestions from the U2 singer and philanthropist included (Red) condoms if you ‘wanted to feel protective.’ However, we doubt how high up on the pecking order condoms are as a traditional Christmas list. The (Red) concept was founded in 2006 by U2 frontman and activist Bono, together with Bobby Shriver of the ONE Campaign and DATA. The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria is the recipient of Product Red’s money.

Bono begs for prayers after ‘falling’ at U2 show. As part of a new business model, each partner company creates a product with the Product Red logo. In return for the opportunity to increase revenue through the Product Red license, up to 50% of profits gained by each partner is donated to the Global Fund. As Product Red is owned by Red, a portion of the contributions received from the partner brands is assigned as profit. Such an amalgamation of humanitarian aid and for-profit businesses is one example of “ethical consumerism”.

Bono reacts to U2 fan throwing bottle at him. Bono: Hello, Bono here. If there is one thing that I’ve learned over the years it’s that holiday shopping can be nearly impossible, a tricky business to find the perfect gift for anyone. Good news – it’s 2019 and Red has taken all the risk out of holiday shopping. They have even added an extra reward. Shop Red for the best gifts that you’ve ever given. Feeling generous? Give a Red Vespa. Feeling protective? Give some Red condoms! The best part? Every purchase fights AIDS – it’s a win/win! Even for the toughest of a customer on your list.

[the camera then pans to U2 member, The Edge.]

Bono: Shop Red, save lives and if they don’t say anything nice, you shouldn’t be buying them gifts anyway! Happy Christmas.
