WATCH BILLY CORGAN’S FURNITURE STORE COMMERCIAL PROMOTING RESISTANCE PRO

Recently we reported that Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan will be starring in a series of commercials for Walter E. Smithe, an Illinois based furniture chain to get publicity for his wrestling promotion Resistance Pro. The first ad has been released. You can view it below and we hope it is the first of many.

Bio: Mike Mazarone graduated from the Connecticut School of Broadcasting in 2011 with a degree in communications, basically relegating him to better then you status (Except for boss Brett Buchanan). Before joining the AlternativeNation staff he was a contributor and producer to Brett Buchanan’s pro wrestling/MMA/comedy radio show – Barbaric Wrestling Radio, from 2006 to 2009. Mazzarone’s job there was to be a contributor and book interviews. After the show ended Buchanan hired Mazzarone right away to be AlternativeNation's head reporter. I just realized I’ve never seen Billy Corgan laugh ever, all these years. Now I know why.

  • thefreewheelinMarkArm

    LMAO! I love it

  • Brett Buchanan

BillCo is the ultimate heel for sending in his henchmen to do all the dirty work.

  • satan

billy … stop this and start writing music

  • Miff

I don’t want to live on this planet anymore

  • King_Luken

    o.O

  • Jessie

    OMG…WHY?!?!

  • Magic Mike Mazzarone

Why? Because that’s a Walter E. Smithe chair! That’s why!

  • jesus

speaking of cash grab. this douche hasn’t done anything relevent since the mid 90s

  • Mia

After watching this video I have realized that Billy Corgan sort of looks like Karl Pilkington from An Idiot Abroad.

  • Is he one?

Whatever makes him happy! True I hope they record new music soon though.

And to “Jesus” here, Billy and SP made the best album from any band covered here since the launch of the site last year si if you please..

  • jesus

i take it back. this is actually funny. and of course Oceania was great.

  • shoegazer

@jesus Seriously? Nothing relevant since the mid 90s? You may hate the guy, and you have the right, but this is the stupidest thing I’ve read all week. Adore not relevant? It’s probably his best album, jackass. Oceania not relevant? Obviously you didn’t take the time to listen, because it’s brilliant. Right now he’s making better music than anyone else covered here at Grungereport.

  • Is he one?

Thank you Shoegazer, that makes me happy. Some sense! :)

  • jesus

    @shoegazer

is said Oceania is good. what is your problem dude? don’t have a cow

  • jesus

    Billy rocks!

  • ejsme

@Mia – had to google the name to see who you were talking about but you’re totally right!!!

  • matt

    @shoegazer hahaha Oceania relevant?

  • jjc19461

HEY BILLY! “IF YOU HATE SOMETHING, DON’T YOU DO IT TOO!”

  • jesus

oceania is garbage. i’d rather listen to this commercial on repeat than be forced to listen to a single track from oceania. just a glorified billy solo album, has no merit or musical value other than a coaster for drink.

  • Magic Mike Mazzarone

I would like to listen to this commercial on repeat just because it’s so hilarious.

  • jesus

i haven’t really listened to Oceania btw

  • Cobainsweater

This 30 second commercial is better than the entire duration of Oceania, bar “Pale Horse”

  • Justin

jesus: you cant say it’s garbage if you barely listened to it

  • Justin

this was better than commercials i see usually…

  • matt

Oceania graduates Smashing Pumpkins from being a forward moving innovative band to being old and making “family rock” exactly like Collective Soul would.

  • matt

    Collective Soul 4life!
