Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl was recently interviewed by Forbes writer Steve Baltin. He discussed what getting high on mushrooms at a concert would feel like.

Baltin: It’s 1974, imagine you’re on acid or ludes and you hear “We May Never Pass This Way Again” and “War Pigs” on the same day. What must that trip have been like?

Grohl: It depends on what you’re taking first of all. If it’s a mushroom trip I think you might be fine. If you’re handling serious blottos you might f**king want to go take a walk through the woods. It might be one of those festivals. But I don’t know (laughs). Earth, Wind & Fire was on one of those too.

Baltin: The first one, 1974.

Grohl: Also that diversity kind of mirrors what radio used to do. Back in the ‘70s, when I was a kid you’d hear something mellow like Gerry Rafferty and then you’d hear “Frankenstein,” by Edgar Winter, and then “That’s The Way (I Like It),” by KC And The Sunshine Band all on the same radio station. And I loved that about music because it really turned you on, opened your mind a little bit and also made you examine the musicality of a lot of these bands. And so musicality is important to me. One of the prerequisites of the Cal Jam festival is that the artists get up and jam. When putting together a Cal Jam lineup there are bands on this lineup that I’ve seen before and there are some that I’ve never seen before. But I know that those are the bands that rule the f**king stage.
