Daily Star reports that thousands of angry Foo Fighters fans have been left stranded outside the Etihad Stadium in Manchester for hours after tickets were rejected at the barcode reading turnstiles.

Reports claims that fans have been held in a ‘pen’ while officials try and work out how to rectify the situation.

Venting their anger on Twitter, one fan wrote: “Ticket declined by automated entry at Foo Fighters Etihad.

“Asked to queue with large no of people and told that Ticketmaster haven’t passed on details so tickets aren’t on the system.

Thousands of angry Foo Fighters fans have been left stranded outside the Etihad Stadium in Manchester for hours after tickets were rejected at the barcode reading turnstiles.

“Missed support band and son worried he’ll miss Foos. Not impressed.”

Another lashed out: “100s of Foo Fighters fans stuck outside Etihad Stadium because Ticketmaster mess up tickets.

“No communication or information being given.”

A third continued: “Ticketmaster UK what’s the issue going on with tickets for Foo Fighters at the Etihad?

“Paid £120 only to find my ticket doesn’t work at the gate along with hundreds of others, cheers guys, great night.”

A fourth fumed: “Been stood outside the Etihad Stadium for over two hours as everyone who has bought tickets for foo fighters on Ticketmaster aren’t getting in due to barcodes not scanning and tickets not recognised!

“Already missed one band and about to miss the second one.”

One fan, who took a picture of the huge queues of frustrated fans outside of the stadium, on Twitter said: ”When hundreds of us for standing at Foo Fighters gig in Manchester are penned away because our tickets haven’t been sent through by Ticketmasterso angry and so sad. Been queuing for hours”.

Dale Lockhart tweeted: “Standing outside the Etihad because Ticketmaster UK have made a c*** up.

“Over a hundred other people also standing not knowing what is going on. FooFighters.”

One Twitter user named Amie, who eventually managed to get into the concert, tweeted: “Update: after over an hour wait we’ve finally been let in!

“Heard the cribs set while in queue but can’t wait for Wolf Alice and Foo Fighters! Seemed to be Ticketmaster barcodes were not scanning, not good!”

While many of the tickets didn’t work, other fans gained entry with their tickets first time.

After Manchester, Foo Fighters will play two shows at London’s Olympic Stadium.

A SJM spokesperson said: “There was an initial problem with 2000 barcodes not scanning.”

“Unfortunately due to human error, a percentage of barcodes provided by Ticketmaster for tonight’s Foo Fighters concert at Etihad did not work.

“This has been corrected and all fans are now able to get into the stadium. The problem is now resolved.”

“Everyone is getting into the show and all gates have ran freely once the technical issue was resolved.

“This was not a Foo Fighters error and we sincerely apologise for any delays experienced by fans this evening, and will be contacting them directly in due course.”
