Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist John Frusciante has purchased the first ever ‘blue jewel’ TTE today to creative innovative guitar effects on the new RHCP album.
Fulltone wrote on Facebook, “John Frusciante (of the Red Hot Chili Peppers) is holed- up in the studio and he bought a TTE today. His will be the first TTE sold with a Blue jewel, which will be the color for all subsequent TTEs.”

Thebanishedturnip answered, ” It’s a delay effect. You don’t need to worry about what kind. If you listen to things like don’t forget me and throw away your television you can hear that the guitar will play and after that, quieter versions of the same thing will play after. This is the delay. If you imagine an echo in a big room, that’s what this allows you to do without being in that big room. Hope this helps a little.”
Bwinner1 responded, “You are right. But to emulate the space of a big room you use reverb not delay, right?”
Falconx50 added, “It’s just talking about a different effect of a big room. There’s the overall sound/reverberation of a big room, which is what reverb would give you. They’re more talking about that delay in sound when it hits a far wall and comes back to you. Another good example of a delay pedal is their B-Side Time.”
Thebanishedturnip wrote, “I personally would say the reverb is the overall ambience where as a delay is refined to just the echo part of the reverb. Don’t quote me on that though, just my opinion.”
JustinGitelmanMusic said, “Big rooms have a certain vibe/sound but they can also echo. Two different effects, the important thing is not ‘big room’. Delay = echo, that’s all they were trying to say.”
