Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan recently tweeted a major update on the new Tool album, and it has been analyzed more than the JFK assasination Zapruder film. Keenan tweeted on January 4th, “Update- Final vocals tracked MONTHS ago. Then U.S.-UK-Euro run w #APC. If Tool all inst are tracked, long process of Mixing now. Meanwhile write/film/track w @puscifer for #puscifer2020 & troll the band FBs with wine posts. #funnyshit #whileyouwerewhiningiwasworking.”

Fans and even popular SiriusXM radio host Eddie Trunk have dug deep into the tweet, speculating that it means there is tension between Tool’s three instrumental members and Maynard James Keenan, and specifically looked into Keenan saying the mixing process could be ‘long,’ which could be a long delay compared to when fans are expecting the album.

Keenan has now liked a tweet from a fan named Christian Fowler who wrote a post emphasizing the use of the word long, “‘If Tool all inst are tracked, long process of Mixing now.’

… ‘If’… and ‘long’…

Hmmm….”

Keenan also liked a tweet by a fan named Harlequin Grim who is more excited by a new Puscifer album than a new Tool album.

“I’ll gladly take a Puscifer album over a Tool album. Get #woke Tool fans.”

Keenan also recently responded to a fan saying that Tool had poor communication by saying, “No shit.”

Will Tool actually release their new album in 2019? We’ll have to wait and see. Keenan said in 2018 that the new album would come out in 2019, and the band have a summer European tour booked.
