Pearl Jam superfan demetrios pointed out on Twitter that the Pearl Jam and Mudhoney supergroup Green River may be planning a 2019 tour, as Sub Pop have added a ‘Tour Dates’ section for Green River on their page on their website. Sub Pop just announced major reissues for Green River being set for release on June 25, 2019.

Green River was formed in 1984 by vocalist/guitarist Mark Arm, guitarist Steve Turner, drummer Alex Vincent and bassist Jeff Ament. Guitarist Stone Gossard joined the band later to allow Arm to concentrate on singing.

Vincent, Turner, and Gossard (as well as future Presidents of the United States of America drummer Jason Finn) attended the Northwest School together in Seattle. Prior to joining Green River, each member had played with punk and hardcore groups. Arm and Turner had played together in both Mr Epp & The Calculations and the Limp Richerds. Turner had also performed with Vincent in Spluii Numa, and Gossard in March of Crimes and The Ducky Boys.

The band split by the late 80’s with Ament and Gossard forming Mother Love Bone and later Pearl Jam. Ament and Gossard did a Mother Love Bone reunion performance earlier this year, and have done Green River reunion performances in the past. Mudhoney members Mark Arm and Steve Turner performed with Pearl Jam at Safeco Field in Seattle in August.
