Pearl Jam will play their first show in 3 years at the Sea.Hear.Now. Festival in New Jersey in September for Danny Clinch, their photographer and ‘Let’s Play Two’ film director.

“To have Pearl Jam playing on the beach in Asbury Park is just incredible. This has been a long time coming for us,” Clinch tells Variety in a new interview. “To have it [postponed due to the pandemic] last year was really painful, but we’re so grateful to them and all the other artists on the lineup to have stuck with it. Very few people returned their tickets, and all the Pearl Jam fans are super excited that this will be their first U.S. show in more than three years.”

Sea.Hear.Now is in its third year, and it is a combined effort between Clinch and Donnelly with C3 Presents’ Tim Sweetwood, whom the pair convinced to fly to Asbury Park and stand on their proposed area for the festival. “Within five minutes, he was like, ‘Wow, this is incredible,’ and brought it to C3,” Clinch remembers. “I grew up going to the Stone Pony in Asbury Park, sneaking a camera in and hoping to see Bruce Springsteen. We are honored to be continuing the legacy of music in this area.”
