Eagles of Death Metal guitarist Dave Catching told a fan in a new Instagram comment that he expects the band to begin recording a new album ‘soon.’

Josh Homme, who also fronts Queens of the Stone Age, and Jesse Hughes have not released an Eagles of Death Metal album since the 2015 Bataclan concert shooting by ISIS terrorists, which Homme was not present for but was deeply affected by.

Catching wrote on Instagram, “I’m sure they’ll start recording soon.”

Eagles of Death Metal’s most recent album was 2015’s Zipper Down. Queens of the Stone Age released Villains last year.

Hughes has been a proponent of using guns as a means of self defense since the shooting. He criticized Democrats in a 2016 Fox Business Channel interview.

“I don’t understand where gun control comes even into the equation, as opposed to better preparedness. The only reason the Bataclan was chosen, the only reason, was the utter hopelessness of the persons involved.”

“You don’t really need guns, but you need defense, and if that is a gun, people get caught up in the gun itself.”

“I don’t want to shoot anybody. I don’t want to do that, but more than that, I do not want to let the bad guys take any of my people, and I do not want to go out like a punk.”

Jesse also talked to police who were at the Bataclan about the presence of firearms at the Olympia.

“They didn’t bring the very tool of salvation that literally was on a flip of a coin whether or not it should have come into the venue, I want that to hit home. There were 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 different individuals who flipped a coin on whether or not to bring life into the venue, and they all opted against it because they didn’t want to deal with the holier than thou politically correct reaction of a bunch of liberal morons reacting to the mere presence of a gun, and the manner in which they would be savaged for simply being police officers. That made me incredibly distraught.”

He also discussed then candidate and future President Donald Trump. Trump is a strong supporter of the second amendment, along with Hughes.

“I love my friends, and I hate that if you even want to say the word Trump, you can’t say the word Trump.”

“I’ve never felt like this before, but I’m starting to see the entire Democratic party as a bunch of kids who didn’t want to clean their room, and have let them amplify into real life like this. They’re always telling everybody they’re not going to clean their room.

“I saw a bumper sticker the other day here in Los Angeles this disturbed me, it said: ‘Not a Republican.’ That to me sums up what is wrong with the modern Democratic party and why I left it so many years ago, as does anyone else who isn’t lying, it’s because that’s how they identify themselves, by what they’re not.”
