Original Smashing Pumpkins bassist D’arcy Wretzky unloaded on Billy Corgan on Facebook in the wake of her exclusion from the band’s reunion.

A fan wrote to D’arcy, “So sorry about all this D’arcy. Billy has been using the band like a brand for a long time imho. Oceania was gd. He knew it then he sacked Nicole. He can’t seem to help himself. Ego. Shame that James couldn’t be honest with u. We all wanted u involved my friend, as long as it was the right thing for u.
Hope ur ok x.”

D’arcy responded, “yes, i’m really quite well. Looks like it’s time to write that book.”

A fan wrote, “This is unfortunate. It’s not a reunion if the whole original lineup isn’t involved. I was very much looking forward to seeing you perform again. I honestly would only see Smashing Pumpkins live if you were part of it. <3.”

D’arcy responded, “Thank you. I was really looking forward to it-probably more than all the guys combined.”

A fan wrote, “What a mess. I don’t want to follow that project anymore!”

D’arcy responded, “yeah, i think people might be getting sick and tired of being manipulated by Billy.”

A fan wrote, “I’ll just keep the adore show in Germany and France 96-97 with Walker in my point of reference. ?great live moments.”

D’arcy responded, “i really enjoyed those shows.”

A fan wrote, “That’s real fucking shitty… It’s not the Smashing Pumpkins if you’re not a part of it.”

D’arcy responded, “Thank you Dino.”

A fan wrote, “Sorry about this D´arcy, what a shame…! Kisses from a portuguese fan. ;)”

D’arcy responded, “AAWE! My beloved Portugal!!! I miss you so much! Thank you!!!”

D’arcy later posted, “I am truly and deeply sorry. I think one other quote needs to be added to that.

It’s a text from Billy to me. I will cut/paste.

‘Yes, there will always be a crowd but without real backing in an unbelievably tough environment to win in I will walk away so it doesn’t matter that there will always be a club full of people wanting to hear old songs.’

So that’s what Billy thinks about what fans do or don’t want.”

A fan wrote, “you can always join my band, our bass player is in limbo… um, in all seriousness. i just hope you and billy’s friendship… somewhat resolves. or mended. maybe you’ll still be able to play if you want to… i remember kerry saying something once that it’s billy’s ship. like it or hate it. again, regardless. i hope you are ok.”

D’arcy responded, “Billy’s ship … which keeps sinking every time he tries pulls this ship.

I abandoned it in 1999 cause i knew it was sinking. He was beyond helping. His ego & insecurities spun out of control and I could no longer reel him in, which had been a very large part of my role for many years, but it was hopeless.

Thank you for the invite! One never knows!!! And really-thank you. After Billy slandered me so badly in the press for about a decade i couldn’t get anyone to even jam w/me.”

D’arcy later posted, “i don’t know if i responded to everyone yet tonight but i’ll try to come back tomorrow and do it. i don’t do FB often enough for my dyslexic brain to keep up w/it’s constant layout changes, but i’ll get back to you all as soon as possible. Thank you all so much for the Love and support!!! ? nite*”
