Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello discussed late Stone Temple Pilots singer Scott Weiland, Nirvana, and other big 90’s names on his SiriusXM radio show this week.

He discussed a famous photo of Kurt Cobain taken at a Nirvana show at Raji’s in Hollywood, which Scott Weiland told Alternative Nation in 2015 that he was in attendance at.

Morello said, “This week on my #OneManRevolution SiriusXM Lithium show hark the herald angels sing with Nirvana (this famous photo taken at Raji’s a tiny club in Hollywood where Rage, Tool, GnR, White Zombie & everybody played often), #STP (we reflect on Scott Weiland’s talents & troubles).

Great new music by Refused, Audioslave & Soundgarden ‘Shake My Shit’ duet with big brother Perry Farrell, awesome #Dio power metal, my deadly guitar duel with Slash, Tool, #BootsRiley suggests we ‘Wear Clean Drawers’, some Rage Against The Machine, and more! Plus everyone’s favorite 97 year old assistant DJ, Mary Morello! Tune in!”

Weiland and Kurt Cobain later met backstage at a Nirvana concert in July 1993, where Cobain hilariously called out Weiland over claims that Stone Temple Pilots had ripped off Nirvana, with Weiland having an absolutely classic response. Weiland spoke positively about Cobain in the years after Kurt died in 1994, calling him one of the greatest songwriters of his generation.
