Guns N’ Roses insider MSL recently discussed Izzy Stradlin’s exclusion from Guns N’ Roses’ 2016 tour on GNRTruth:
DJ chose Sixx:A.M. over GNR. Tommy [Stinson] chose The Replacements over GNR.
Slash & Duff are filling the spots that were open.
This is not the reunion of a defunct band. This is former members rejoining an existing band to fill spots that were open.
Izzy was offered tens of thousands of dollars to appear for 2-3 songs as he’s done in the past.
Izzy wanted more money and/or the full time spot.
Based on Izzy’s history, there was no reason to believe he’d showed up reliably full time or not just end up quitting, not to mention Axl [Rose] being loyal to Richard [Fortus].
Alternative Nation has reached out to Stradlin numerous times on Twitter for official comment on why he is not part of Guns N’ Roses’ 2016 touring plans and we have received no comment.
