May 2nd, 2016 (Atlanta, Ga) – Monday morning Scott Stapp, lead singer of Creed, was interviewed by Rock 100.5 FM Atlanta/WNNX’s Bailey and Southside about the second leg of his solo tour titled “Proof of Life”. Bailey and Southside had recently made news by breaking that Axl Rose was joining AC/DC and now lightning may have struck twice. In a shocking revelation, Scott Stapp might have just leaked that he will be replacing Scott Weiland, former frontman of Stone Temple Pilots.

During this 13 minute interview Stapp tells Rock 100.5 FM Atlanta hosts Bailey and Southside that he can “neither confirm or deny” that he will be fronting STP.

Jason Bailey starts off by simply asking “How is life?”, Scott replies “Life is good man…I’m excited to be back out on the road also been working on a new album with a new group of guys. Guys from some pretty well-known rock bands that you guys will know. I can’t really share the details about it but there’s a lot of good things going on that I can’t tell you till later in June when we’ll be making the announcement…This other band I’m jamming with is it’s own band with its own band name.” Bailey then asks “Hold on for a second, did you get the gig for STP?” Stapp replies, “I can’t say man, I can’t say.” Jason then pushes “You got the gig for STP. That’s exactly what you’re talking about.” Stapp states “I can’t confirm or deny.”

Scott also hints that he may be joining Stone Temple Pilots when saying, “I will tell you this, there is a 6 degree separation connection between this new project and the band you mentioned.” Bailey asks, “Is it the tour bus? Because Weiland actually died on the tour bus you use to tour on.” Surprised, Scott says, “Dude you are just on point aren’t you?”

It had already been rumored that Stapp was recording with Art of Anarchy, but this is the first time Stapp has hinted at fronting Stone Temple Pilots.
