While Scott Weiland’s funeral was held at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery, the legendary Stone Temple Pilots frontman’s remains are not at the cemetery. A fan posted on BelowEmpty.com:

Today I went to the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Hollywood to see Scott’s final resting place; however, he is not there. The security guard told me that he has 10 people every day coming to visit Scott and he said he is not there. Apparently the family did hold the service there, but kept Scott’s remains and did not bury him there. I did however see Bugsy Siegel and Johnny Ramon. It’s a beautiful place, but Scott isn’t there. Just in case anyone is planning on going…

About 50 people attended Scott Weiland’s funeral at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery a few weeks ago, including his former Velvet Revolver and Stone Temple Pilots bandmates. Slash, Duff McKagan, Dave Navarro, Rocco Guarino, Jamie Weiland (Scott’s widow), and Tom Vitorino (Scott’s manager) spoke at the funeral. The funeral had a very rock and roll vibe, with lots of leather and messy hair. There were a couple of beautiful slide shows with music.

Scott Weiland’s ex-wife Mary and teenage children Noah and Lucy did not attend the funeral, but they did remember Scott with their own memorial.

Chris Kushner, the wife of Velvet Revolver guitarist Dave Kushner, discussed the service on Instagram.

“A very sad day when u bury a friend. He was a good man. Don’t believe everything u read. Remember, we were all there.

She later commented, “It was filled w/ love and funny beautiful stories about Scott ”

kodachromegirl commented, “It was really a beautiful service. Good seeing you. Nothing will ever extinguish the way he lit up the stage. I hope he has the found peace he deserves.”

Wildabouts drummer Joey Castillo commented, “He was more than a good man, he was Human…RIP Scotty.”
