Alice In Chains singer/guitarist Jerry Cantrell discussed using a replica of Malcolm Young’s guitar on AIC’s new album in a new Rig Rundown video.

“A great sounding guitar that I just picked up, that Mike Tempesta got for me, was one of the Malcolm [Young] replicas man. It’s so good, [AC/DC] were a huge influence on me, so I got that guitar and was actually able to track three songs on this record with it. It’s got the greatest tone, it’s really cool.”

We don’t really do 4/4, the precedent got set early, and it’s just where we are. It’s part of the sound of the band I think.

Using the wah and talk box on ‘Man in the Box’ was mentioned.

“Yeah, on Man in the Box there is both. It’s kind of mixed together.”

He then mentioned how the song is done live.

“What we do is we throw a clean signal out to Ted or whoever is our sound man, Ted is great. We throw him a clean one, and the talk box, so he can kind of mix it together.”
