Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page recently shared a hotel room card photo on his Instagram, which is interesting as it came shortly before John Bonham’s son Jason Bonham made a wild cocaine accusation.

Former Led Zeppelin reunion shows drummer Jason Bonham has apologized to Jimmy Page after accusing him on The Howard Stern Show of giving him cocaine on a hotel room when he was 16.

Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin – An Apology

“On or about 9 April 2019 I, Jason Bonham, gave an interview on radio with Howard Stern (the Interview). In that interview I made certain untrue and derogatory statements concerning Mr. James Page (aka Jimmy Page) of the legendary band Led Zeppelin.

I unconditionally retract all derogatory and defamatory comments relating to Mr. J Page that I made in that interview. In particular it is wholly untrue that Mr. J Page offered me any illegal substances either when I was a minor or at all. I apologize to Mr. Page, unreservedly, for making these unfounded and untrue comments about him. Out of my long held respect for Mr. Page I will make no further comments on the Interview and I agree to make no further comments which Mr. Page might view as disparaging, either now or in the future.”

Page wrote about the hotel room card photo he posted, “On this day in 1965, I was visiting Los Angeles. I was on my second visit to the city but my first stay at Gene Autry’s Continental Hotel on Sunset Boulevard. This was to become the infamous Continental Hyatt House; best known as the ‘Riot House’ in the 70s.
⠀⠀
I was with Tony Calder of Immediate Records and present when he met with Murray Wilson in an LA steakhouse. He came away with the Beach Boys’ publishing contract under his belt and ‘Help Me Rhonda’ was the first single of this new relationship. Tony also had Taj Mahal and Jesse Ed Davis auditioning in a room at the hotel. They were really solid. They weren’t signed to Immediate at that time and only came together on record three years later, in 1968.
⠀⠀
Taj Mahal in a solo capacity was later billed with Led Zeppelin in January 1969 at Bill Graham’s Fillmore West.
⠀⠀
Jesse Ed Davis was to perform with Leon Russell, Albert King and Willie Nelson and he also played on albums with John Lennon, Eric Clapton, Leonard Cohen and George Harrison.”
