Tool debuted their first new song in 13 years “Descending” at the Welcome to Rockville festival on Sunday. This is not a troll job or prank! You can view video below! The band also debuted a second new song, “Invincible,” which you can view below.

Keenan tweeted on February 8th, “Update- Midway through mixing. Most likely be a few recalls. Then some arguing. Then Mastering, Artwork, Video, Special Packaging, etc. Best Ballpark Guess- Release date somewhere between Mid May and Mid July. More focused updates to follow as we progress. @tool #simplemath.”

He tweeted on January 4th, “Update- Final vocals tracked MONTHS ago. Then U.S.-UK-Euro run w #APC. If Tool all inst are tracked, long process of Mixing now. Meanwhile write/film/track w @puscifer for #puscifer2020 & troll the band FBs with wine posts. #funnyshit #whileyouwerewhiningiwasworking.”

In a new Kerrang interview, Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan discussed the ‘crazed Twitterverse of horseshit.’

Your work invites a huge amount of speculation. People seem to want you to tell them that their theories about the meanings behind your music are correct…

“Yes and I’m not going to do that (laughs), and that’s mainly because there isn’t just one explanation. Some things are subjective, and some things are not. Some things are logical: take a step back, take away all the grandiose stuff and the idol-worship part, and look at something practically and you’ll come up with an answer that’s fucking reasonable – rather than this crazed Twitterverse of horseshit. Shut the door to the shit room.”
