Stone Temple Pilots photographer John Eder has confirmed that the band are planning a 25th anniversary reissue for Tiny Music…Songs From The Vatican Gift Shop, their third album released in March 1996. STP previously reissued Core and Purple for their 25th anniversaries.

Eder wrote, “I was looking through my archive of pics of Stone Temple Pilots the other day, as their Tiny Music album, for which I did the cover, is being reissued, and the label has asked me for material to review for the package. This is a poster the band commissioned shortly after their initial success w their debut album.

It was their idea, and was one of the first things I ever did in Photoshop. It won an award in a competition in which one of the judges was Graham Nash, who said it spoke to his own experiences as a rock star. A fun project, STP were great to work with/for.”

The late Scott Weiland said in many interviews that Tiny Music was his favorite Stone Temple Pilots album, and it won over contemporaries like The Smashing Pumpkins who were initially skeptical of STP.

Billy Corgan said in December 2015 after Weiland’s death, “It was STP’s 3rd album that had got me hooked, a wizardly mix of glam and post-punk, and I confessed to Scott, as well as the band many times, how wrong I’d been in assessing their native brilliance. And like Bowie can and does, it was Scott’s phrasing that pushed his music into a unique, and hard to pin down, aesthetic sonicsphere.”
