KISS Reunion Sabotaged By Original Members

Let’s talk about something that could either melt your face off with excitement… or make you roll your eyes so hard you pull a muscle.

Is the original KISS lineup reuniting… in Vegas? We’ve heard this before. But this time, there’s actual smoke — and with KISS, where there’s smoke, there’s usually fireworks, platform boots, and Gene Simmons breathing fire.

So here’s what’s going down: KISS just announced a special three-day event in Las Vegas, November 14th to 16th, called “KISS Army Storms Vegas.” No makeup. No pyro. Just the band.

Now here’s where things get interesting. In a new interview with Greg Schmitt of Noize In The Attic, Gene Simmons was asked whether Ace Frehley and Peter Criss were invited to this Vegas event?

Asked if original KISS members Ace Frehley (guitar) and Peter Criss are “welcome” to appear at “KISS Army Storms Vegas”, Gene said: “Of course.”

After Schmitt noted that KISS is one of the last bands of his generation that have all living members and that “it’d be great if somebody could really utilize that still,” Simmons said:

“I like the way you think, but it’s dreamland, my friend. That’s not how life works. You can lead a horse to water, but that’s all you can do. We invited — I personally invited Ace and Peter to jump up on stage with us at Madison Square Garden [for the final KISS concert]. ‘Hey, why don’t you invite him on the show?’ I did, but they said no. ‘I want this and I want that.’ ‘Well, you can’t have that, but join us to celebrate the beginning.'”

Now, if you’ve followed KISS drama for longer than five minutes, you know this is vintage Ace and Peter. These guys invented “band beef.” The fights, the firings, the lawsuits — it’s rock soap opera at this point.

Gene left the door open. Paul? Probably rolling his eyes backstage. But if Ace decides to roll the dice — pun intended — and Peter throws on the Catman eyeliner one more time… that Vegas stage could see the reunion fans have been begging for since ages.
