A legendary guitar once used by Slash from Guns N’ Roses is now up for auction, and fans are excited. The guitar, a B.C. Rich Warlock, was used by Slash during some of the band’s early shows and recordings, including on hits like “Welcome to the Jungle” and “Sweet Child O’ Mine.” Slash ordered it in 1984 from a music store in Los Angeles and played it at around 18 key shows in the Hollywood area. It was one of his most used guitars at the time.

After being retired in 1987, the guitar disappeared for almost 30 years. No one knew where it went until it suddenly turned up at an auction in 2016. At that time, it sold for $96,000 even though it was only expected to sell for up to $80,000.

Now the guitar is being auctioned again by Gotta Have Rock and Roll. This time, the estimated value is $200,000 with bidding starting at $130,000. The auction will remain open for 14 more days.

Slash and his original guitar tech, Jason Solon, confirmed that the guitar is authentic. It even has Slash’s signature and a drawing of a skull and crossbones wearing his trademark top hat.

The guitar was used in early performances including shows at Madame Wong’s West and the band’s first performance with the classic lineup at the Troubadour in 1985. Slash also played it on the band’s early live albums Live ?!@ Like a Suicide* and Lies.

The auction listing calls the guitar an important piece of Guns N’ Roses history. It comes with its original hard case and a timeline of when and where it was played.
